Sorry for the almost 5 month drought in blogging posts... Here are just a few things that have happened since my last entry:
1. Alan and I bought a house! We began looking at houses online at the beginning of December, but didn't actually step into any houses for sale until around New Years. We looked at about 8-10 houses in all and fell in love with our house in Tuscumbia, AL (a.k.a. the birthplace of Helen Keller.) The house is actually just down the street from the historic Helen Keller home. Our house was built in 1923! It has 10 ft ceilings and hardwood floors throughout. What was the big selling point for me was: a big kitchen, large master bathroom, and large master bedroom with a fireplace. Plus, it was a steal because the seller was just wanting to "break even."
2. With the new house being another 15 minutes added on to my 45-50 minute commute, I decided to work in Alabama. As of March 10, 2008 I will officially be an Enduracare employee. It is a contract PT company based out of Kentucky. My job will entail Outpatient, Inpatient Rehab and Inpatient, and I will be floating between two hospitals in Florence and Muscle Shoals, AL. Anna and Judy - I'll be doing some wound care - whirlpool style! A little outdated, but it's still wound care, yay! I now am in the process of getting an AL physical therapist licens and I'm finding out it's not as difficult as the application for TN (thank goodness.)
3. I'm still busy planning the wedding. The invitations are being sent to me as we speak and I next get the opportunity to address a few hundred invitations! Talk about your hand cramp. The dress is bought, the hair is highlighted, but the make-up is not ready yet :( I never knew exactly how to put on make-up, so I need some help in that department! The bridal portrait is not scheduled until March. I have a little time to figure this one out.
4. Alan and I are currently in premarital counseling, which makes me slightly nervous. We found out that we have a lot of strengths in our relationship, but I know that once we finally start living together on April 26th it will be an adjustment. I'm gonna have to straighten up a little bit and not be so sloppy :) I have a hard time keeping my bedroom clean and I'm pretty sure that's gonna drive him crazy! Or maybe I'll just make him a little bit more sloppy...
That's all the updates for now. The wedding is in less than 3 months and there is still so much to do! But I'm enjoying every minute of it.
Love all of you!
Dinah
I'll be surprised if anyone even reads this because it's been so long and you might have given up on my blogging...
