A few weeks ago, Alan and I went to see "Meet the Robinsons" in 3D. Other than a few teenagers, we were surrounded by parents and children! I'm just like a little kid when it comes to animated movies because I would prefer to see one over a Blockbuster movie any day. The ones that are coming out these days are filled with jokes that require a little more thought and only adults understand the punchline. This movie's humor is definitely for all ages. If you think the preview with the dinosaur in it is hilarious, you'll really like this movie. It's amazing to me to see how much animated movies have changed since I was a little girl. I remember the first animated movie I ever saw in the theaters: The Little Mermaid. It was so good that my family went to see it 2 or 3 times! I watched it again a few years ago while babysitting and thought, "this animation isn't that great." Now, everything is done by computers and characters seem more life-like. The older animated movies were definitely more geared towards children as far as the humor. Except for Mulan. Judy and Anna know how much I love this one! I could start the movie quotes now, but I'll spare you all because it would take up A LOT of space on this post.
Not only have the animated movies changed a lot, but the 3D glasses have changed a lot too. Here's a picture of the glasses we wore at the movie - maybe that's why it cost an extra 3$ to see it! Does anyone else remember the white 3D glasses made out of flimsy material with one blue lens and one red lens? Those would have only added about 50 cents to the total cost of this movie...

By the way, I was not aware that a fish was piercing my skull in this picture. It's not real! It's only an illusion.
What's your all time favorite animated movie? Mine is Mulan. "Good Morning! I am the Great Stone Dragon." "Did I mention I was the Great Stone Dragon?" If you haven't seen it, you're really missing out on a funny movie. Eddie Murphy is one of the voices, and he is hilarious!

My fav is Toy Story (#1). "Too late, gotta go around the horn."
That's also a funny one, too. Mr. Potato Head is my favorite character in that one.
Mulan for sure!!! Some of my favorite quotations: "My, what beautiful blossoms we have this year. But look, this one's late. But I'll bet that when it blooms, it will be the most beautiful of all." and "Just because I have to look like a man doesn't mean I have to smell like one." Wow, now I want to watch it :-)
I like Toy Story also. "Some extra bouncy bouncy balls!!!" in the voice of Mrs. Costanza, who sounds just like Debbie Reynolds. :-)
Those are VERY cool shades! Thanks again for making the trip to the gump for the Vaughn Park anniversary. Your family is such an important part of this congregation and we love you guys a lot.
I will have to admit that Finding Nemo has been one of my recent favorites. I could watch it all the time. Especially the parts with the California surfer dude turtles. Hate I missed you guys this weekend at VP. Hope you had a great weekend though!
I was not up on Mulan until Dinah and Judy kept qouting it during school. Once I watched it I loved it. My favorite though has to be "The Fox and the Hound." It is not really funny not does it have good animation (actually it is really bad animation...if you took one step back in animation it would be the still pics with the sound track playing in the background, but it is my favorite story. My favorite quote is a conversation between Todd (the fox) and Copper (the bloodhound. So here it is:
Todd: "Copper, your my best friend"
Copper: "and your mine too Todd."
Todd: "And we'll always be friend forever?"
Copper: "Yeah, forever."
They show a scene later in the movie when they have grown up of Todd remembering this conversation as he looks down on Copper from the woods knowing they will never play together again due to the politics of the animal kingdom.
I just made myself cry. ANYWAYS..thats my favorite!!!
"Dishonour! Dishonour on your whole family! Dishonour on you, dishonour on your cow..."
Ha ha... love that movie!
I have many favourites, but the one I quote from the most right now is Shrek...
"You definitely need a tic tac or somethin' cause your breath STANKS!!"
"You know what else everyone likes? Parfaits! You ever met anyone you say Hey, let's go get some parfaits, and they say Heck no, I don't like no parfaits. Parfaits are delicious!"
