So, I've been pretty busy...

Let me fill everyone in on what's been keeping me from my blogging lately:
STAR Physical Therapy (the company I work for) has just recently begun the transition from paper documentation to computers. Lawrenceburg is one of about 6 clinics that are now using the computer documentation programs. In addition to the several hours it's taken for all of us to transition over to the new system, we are averaging 40-50 patients a day. That may not seem like a lot to many of you, but when that number must be divided among only three therapists and a tech (that's been out for about 5 days during the last 3 weeks), it gets to be pretty stressful at work. Oh yeah, and I'm a new grad who just recently passed my PT boards and am averaging 15 patients a day. I'm quickly developing my time management skills. Anna, I know your NY clinical was this busy if not busier. I don't know how you did it! I've also had at least 2 days where I've had 7 new evals on my schedule of 15! I've probably put in about 50 hours a week of work for the last month.

And all I can say is that computers do not make the paperwork simpler. With the several times I have been kicked offline or out of the program while losing all the work I had completed for the last several hours, it's taking more time to get things done than when we used paper documentation...

I hope it gets better soon, or slows down a little in Lawrenceburg. Sara, I don't know how Brentwood is handling things. That clinic is 10x busier than mine!

My advice to anyone who is looking for a PT job: ask if there are any plans to transition from paper to computers. If the answer is "yes".... Run away!!!!

This may sound like complaining. Well, maybe I am complaining a little. I really love my job and enjoy working with my co-workers. I'm swimming in the deep end right now and don't know when it's going to end. But I'm keeping in mind that "this too shall pass" before I go insane.

I met the Atkinson's from Montgomery last night. They said they knew your family. She told us the story about Michael and "the three little piggs".
