For the past month prior to graduation, I've been wanting an iPod. I discovered them during my two week class in July when my friend Anna showed me a slide show of pics from Honduras on hers. It was really cool! I acted like it was the greatest thing since sliced bread, but I didn't know that these little gadgets have been around for a few years. I'm always a little behind on the latest advances in technology. For example, I was still using a floppy disk during my first year of PT school to save my schoolwork while everyone else had a jump drive. I finally got one that Christmas and threw away all my floppy disks. I also used a bag phone in my car throughout college and didn't even get a cell phone until I was 22! And I didn't get a camera phone until I was 24 or 25. I know that these new camera phones haven't been around that long, but I'll assure you that at least half of my class at Belmont had one before I did.
So, I've recently joined the musical technology realm because I purchased an iPod yesterday! Let me tell you that after living 9 months without an income and working full time on my clinicals for 6 of those months, it was a huge purchase for me. Thanks Mom, Dad, Sara, Brian and Camden for my graduation money! That was the only way I was going to be able to afford it, because Dave Ramsey taught me to pay for things with cash.
With my iPod I can listen to over 7,000 songs! Well, I don't even think I have 1,000 songs on my CDs. It's a start. It will help to pass the time on my commute to work. If I want to, I can download videos and pictures on it. But I won't watch them on the way to work... That might be a little dangerous.
Mom and Dad - Jeff purchased the iPod through his school because he could get a $30 discount and it's being delivered to your house. So don't be surprised if you get a package in the mail in the next few weeks with his name on it.
