Hmmm...

So i've been spending a lot of time loading songs onto my new iPod these last few days and have come across some CDs that I haven't listened to in a long time. Many of them are Contemporary Christian artists, and one of the songs I listened to today. It's a great song with a great message and it really made me think about how thankful I am to be loved by God and call Him my Father. It's by Jennifer Knapp:

"All Consuming Fire"
I sit here and question why my God loves me
though I have never done a good thing,
or a righteous deed.
And though I'm rich, I claim that I'm poor
crying over earthly things I know I can't afford but
He who died is greater than these
I should be thankful, praying on my knees
crying
..............
Alpha and Omega
Prince of Peace
o, my King of Kings
the Great I am, Jehovah Jireh
who cares for me
the Holy One, the Holy Father of the Blessed Trinity
All consuming Fire burn in me
...............
Now I never claimed to be anymore than I am
any more than I seem
In fact I bill myself so much less than i am
so much less than He sees
So may I hold out with an open hand
This frail life of mine and pray that You can make it stand
most holy God it's all I need to say that I'm thankful
I can believe in the
...............
Alpha and Omega
Prince of Peace
o, my King of Kings
the Great I Am, Jehovah Jireh
who cares for me
the Holy One, the Holy Father of the Blessed Trinity
All Consuming Fire burn in me
..............
The song says to me that I am rich because I believe in and am loved by God (and I like the fact that J. Knapp mentions His other names from scripture.) He IS the Beginning and End, the Prince of Peace, Great I am, and all the other amazing titles, and yet, he cares for me. Cares enough to know exactly how many hairs are on my head! But I often keep my life too "cluttered" to let His all consuming fire burn in me. That's enough "preaching" from me. I just wanted to share this with all of my readers and fellow bloggers. Feel free to share with me a different message that the song tells you. I would love to hear your insights!
