Christmas in Florence

This year we had an extra family member in Florence for Christmas. His name is Camden, and I have mentioned him before on my blogspot. Since he is the first grandson in our family, he got the biggest package under the tree! Let me tell you, between the "Johnny Jumps A Lot" and the "Exersaucer" Camden's going to be a very fit baby. It is our family tradition to open gifts to each other first before opening the gifts from "Santa". In addition to this tradition we also open gifts one at a time, in a specific order (oldest to youngest, or youngest to oldest). So, with the addition of Camden and Mom getting up every five minutes to finish cooking breakfast and refill the bowl of sausage balls, it only took us about 3 and 1/2 hours to open all of the gifts! The time flies by, and I wouldn't change it for anything. We all enjoy seeing what the other person gets for Christmas.

My birthday is in early November, and this year I asked for the FRIENDS season 10 DVD to complete my collection. However, it was not out yet on my birthday. So, I told my Mom to just get it for me for Christmas. Well, on Christmas day I was really excited about finally getting the DVDs because I had waited another month and 1/2 for them. My mom told me in late November that she found season 10. So I knew that it would be in one of the packages that I opened. Well, it wasn't. Because I didn't want to seem ungreatful for the gifts I had already received, I didn't say anything about not getting the DVDs (except for one sarcastic comment that I will not repeat). But my mom could tell that something was wrong. When I was leaving the next day she asked me if I had a good Christmas because she could tell that I wasn't myself the day before. I finally told her that I thought I was getting the DVDs but didn't want to act like it was a big deal. She had this look of shock on her face and said " I know that I have them! Why weren't they under the tree?!?" She runs upstairs and finds them in the attic behind some boxes. What happened is that when Mom and Dad were carrying all of the gifts from the attic downstairs to wrap and put under the tree, the DVDs fell behind some boxes. Mom, Dad and I got a good laugh out of it...

I hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas and have a Happy New Year! I'm attaching more pictures of Camden. He is so cute!
