Here's a short version of what happened:
I was scheduled to see my OB Monday morning @ 7:50. Alan and I drove separately to the appointment and from the time I got into the car until I was called back to see the OB I had already had 3 pretty strong and painful contractions. The doctor came in the exam room and asked me how I was feeling. I told him about the contractions, he examined me, and then told me to get dressed because he was calling the hospital. When he returned, he told me I was dilated to 4+ cm and that I needed to head to labor and delivery. It apparently had not sunk in to Alan and me that we were having the baby because Alan said, "So... when are we going to have our baby." ":) The doctor's response was, "probably by dinner time tonight."
We head over to the hospital, and after being monitored for an hour, I was sent to a labor and delivery room with contractions being 2-3 min apart.
By 11 o'clock, I was dilated 6 cm and fully effaced! The OB came in and broke my water, 30 min later I was having my epidural.
By 5:00 that afternoon it was time to start pushing...
2 and 1/2 hours of pushing later, the OB decides that Will is not going to fit through my pelvis without the help of the vacuum suction and a lot of tearing. He recommends a c-section, to which I respond "just get this boy out of me, please."
At 8:56 pm that night, I heard the first cry of my sweet baby boy and my heart melted. I've been in LOVE with this little one ever since then :)
Here are just a few pictures of many that will come of little William Alan Hall.
