OB visit

I know it's been a month since I've last updated the blog. A lot has been going on...

  • 3 baby showers hosted by wonderful friends and family of which I am so thankful.
  • Moving furniture and decorating Will's bedroom.
  • Washing all of the new little outfits for our sweet baby boy
  • Continuing my full-time IP physical therapy job. (We've been VERY busy)
So, I went to the doctor this morning for my 35 week OB appointment. Now we are down to weekly visits! Here's the stats to date:

  • My BP: 128/70 (still normal, but a little high for me)
  • Will's heartrate: the nurse didn't tell me this time, but it's still going strong ( We could hear Will's hiccups when she was listening to the heartbeat)
  • Here's the surprise: I'm 2 cm dilated! I know that I could stay like this for the next 5 weeks, but I really think that the strenuous nature of my job has sped up the process a little bit (I'm thankful for that.)
Doc said that I haven't "thinned out" any and he didn't seem to think that the baby was coming this week. But I can still hope, can't I??? As long has he comes after 36 weeks, there should be no developmental issues. He decided to do another US to make sure Baby Will was still doing OK, and he's guessing that he already weighs in at 6 lbs. His quote: "It still looks like you may have an 8 pound baby." As long as he's healthy, it doesn't matter how BIG he is at delivery.

I'm really beginning to feel the "aches and pains" of the 3rd trimester, but thankfully haven't had a big problem with swelling yet.

I don't know if this will indicate the personality of our little boy, but he was shy during the ultrasound today. He didn't show his face at all, but according to the tech "He only wants to show that he's definitely a BOY." Spread eagle again...

Thanks for checking in...
