Why Must the Show Last 2 Hours?!

Okay. So I am a big fan of the show "The Biggest Loser" and have watched it since the first episode three years ago. Why do I love this show? Maybe it's because I have a bachelors degree in exercise science. Or maybe because I'm a Physical Therapist and know all about the various medical co-morbidities associated with obesity. Or maybe I just enjoy seeing success stories about individuals who make lifestyle changes for the better. Whatever the reason, I set aside Wednesday night from 7-9 pm to watch while 14 people practically kill themselves in order to win $250,000 and be labeled "The Biggest Loser." Some things people will do for money.
This season I'm a little frustrated with the show. I feel like it has followed all other popular reality television shows (American Idol, for one) and stretched out an hour into 2 hours by playing hundreds of commercials. It's beginning to make me feel like I'm watching commercials for 2 hours with a few 30 second glimpses of "The Biggest Loser."
Anyway, I'm rambling... My favorite part of the show is the end where it gives an update on the one voted off that night. I enjoy seeing the change over the 3+ months and how different (and better) they look. I think I'm getting to the point where I'm just going to watch the first episode to see all of the contestants at the beginning and then watch the finale when they all come back for a final weigh-in.
Oh, and don't worry. I go to church at 5:30 for the short devotional. I'm not missing church to watch the show...

I like this show too, although I don't watch it very much. Every time I do, however, I get a sudden urge to do sit-ups or get on the bicycle. I should watch it more often!

I love this show too. Have you checked Lindsay's blog? The guy from KY is her hair guy from E-town. How fun is that? I must also admit - I'm a big fan of Bob. :)

Hey Dinah! I'm right there with you. I'm always rooting on both teams but my favorite part is the end too. I like seeing the end results. My hairdresser from KY has already lost?
