This past weekend I drove up to Nashville (and am still here because I take my Boards tomorrow morning) to hang out with my friends, Jeff, and the Walkers. Since I've been spending a lot of time studying, I decided to relax these last couple of days before the Boards. Sure, I've done some studying these last few days, but I decided to not cram right before the test because it will only make me even more stressed out. All through grad school (and the last two years of college) I never stayed up late the night before a test to cram. My rule was: If I don't know it by 9 or 10 pm the night before the test, I'm not going to know it by test time. I valued sleep as a high priority during school because I couldn't function or think clearly during a test if I had not gotten at least 7 hours of sleep the night before. Anyway, that's not going along with the title of this post.
On Saturday night Jeff and I went to see "Invincible." It's the new football movie with Mark Wahlberg about Vince Papale. He was a bartender and substitute teacher in Philadelphia in the late 1970s, and the movie is about his experience making the Philadelphia Eagles roster and playing professional football. It's a really good movie that I would recommend to anyone. It's a Disney movie, so I think it's a good family film. Being that it's based on a true story, I was curious to find out if the movie was accurate in portraying the events. Jeff and I looked him up on the internet and found that it was pretty close! There were a few timeline errors, but of course Disney has to make it look like this guy came from nothing to being an incredible NFL football player.
It's still no match for "Remember the Titans"...
All in all, I give the movie an 8 out of 10. So go check it out!
