Hotlanta, Here I Come!

Well, I am now packing for my temporary move to Atlanta for my clinical. I leave tomorrow and I hope that I don't forget anything! My clinical will be at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and I will be treating Jr High and High School students. Seeing that I still look like I am in high school, I plan to keep a tally of how many people mistake me for a 16 year old. There were several patients on my last full-time clinical that thought I was in high school...

While in Atlanta I am staying with one of my good friends from college. Lana lived at 402 for a couple of years before deciding to move back home and teach at her old high school. Since she left Nashville 3 years ago, she has tried to talk me into moving to Atlanta as well. This is the reason that I am doing a clinical there: to see if I would want to live there. So far, everyone that I have mentioned this to has told me that Atlanta is too big and I wouldn't be happy there. I'm gonna see for myself if that really is the case. Anyway, I am excited about getting to see Lana and be roommates with her again! She and I are so similar in that we like to have a lot of fun, are competitive, and love to play games!

I am not excited about starting my clinical. I'm really nervous about it. It's been 5 months since I've had my last clinical and I feel a little "rusty" with my PT skills. Also, it's a new place, with new people, and a new system of paperwork! I need at least a 2 week adjustment period. So, I just hope my clinical instructor doesn't expect me to do evals and treatment sessions without a glitch from day one. I've got some studying to do over the next couple of days...

I've attached a picture of Lana from a retreat I went on with her church last summer. We went to PC Beach for Memorial Day Weekend. For those of you who don't know her, she is sitting on my right in the picture.
